An Exciting Update

Dear Friends,

After nearly two decades as My New Red Shoes, we’ve rebranded as mBOLDen Change. Our new name reflects the evolution of our work — and a deepening commitment to equity, systems change, and bold partnership. While the name is new, our values, relationships, and approach remain grounded in trust, collaboration, and shared purpose.

Since 2006, our organization has helped hundreds of thousands of children and families access the essentials they need to thrive. Thanks to the support of friends like you, our work has grown from:

We’re energized by this transformation. mBOLDen Change captures the clarity, conviction, and momentum guiding our next chapter.

We’re deeply grateful to have you by our side. Together, we can make equity not just a shared value, but a lived reality.

Child poverty is a policy choice. But, together, we can ensure that all children in our community and across the country have the opportunity to thrive.

As a nonprofit organization working to uplift our community’s most vulnerable families, we saw firsthand the positive outcomes from the temporary expansion of the Child Tax Credit included in the 2021 American Rescue Plan Act and the devastating impact of its 2022 expiration for children – especially Black and Latino children.

There is currently a bipartisan effort to push forward a revised expansion of the Child Tax Credit, which we are proud to support. If passed, the new expansion would be available to more households – including those with no or extremely low-income that were previously excluded – significantly reducing child poverty.

We know from our Guaranteed Income pilots that children win when we put cash in the hands of families. To learn more about our pilot, please click here.

My New Red Shoes believes that all children deserve to live a healthy and productive life, and the satisfaction of basic needs is a human and civil right. Please join us and take action by sending this pre-drafted message in support of the expanded Child Tax Credit or your own letter to your legislator using this tool.
