A Year of Growth & Inflection

Thanks to remarkable support from our donors, friends and program partners in 2017, My New Red Shoes helped to improve the self-confidence, educational experience and quality of life of more than 10,000 students experiencing poverty.

While we are deeply proud of all that we have achieved together, we know that there is still much work to be done. We are also mindful of the growing and evolving challenges in our community. To meet these challenges, we are striving to more deeply immerse ourselves in the communities we serve and empower our agency partners, families and students to guide the ongoing development of our program design and solutions.

Working together, there is no limit to the impact that we can have.

The majority of our students come from families who are struggling with poverty, marginalized legal status, and are living with chronic stress. There is little time or additional money to purchase clothing.

FY 2017 Support & Revenue: $1,745,460

My New Red Shoes has experienced annual organization growth and financial sustainability since our founding. Our annual revenue is generated through multi-layered fund development efforts including annual fundraising campaigns, ongoing major gifts solicitations, special events, new donor acquisition programs, and annual and multi-year funding partnerships with foundations and corporations.

FY 2017 Expenses: $1,701,835

We place top priority on effective expense management in order to ensure that we have a sustained and scalable impact in the communities we serve.

Our major direct program expenses are the purchase of new shoes to supplement the roughly 50% that are donated from the community and the acquisition of clothing gift cards, which we receive at a discounted rate from our retail partners.
